Much better today

Abi is much better today. I feel so happy. While she still occasionally whimpers when she lifts her head (watching her closely suggested that was where the problem was) sometimes she doesn’t. Also, last night she did move from bed to bed but spent most of the night on one bed before moving in with me. While it might be the pain meds covering something more sinister than a pulled muscle, at least she’s comfortable now. So, I am going to cancel tomorrow’s vet appointment. She has to see the vet Tuesday anyway for the next bout of chemo so I shall explain what’s been going on to the vet then. I don’t think it can be the cancer come back as she seemed to cry more the very first time she lifted her head after a night’s sleep, so I think its probably, as others have said, a sprain or something. I will tell the vet though as when poor old Mitch’s cancer came back I told myself it was just arthritis.

It’s been a beautifully sunny weekend but I missed most of it trying to soothe Abi. Still, she enjoyed the fuss.

  1. How in the world did I miss your previous post of Abi puckering up and signing?? And the walk with Jack? They are great photos!!

Glad to hear Abi is feeling better and you may, indeed, have pinpointed a sprain in her neck muscle. You may ever so gently see if tenses up if you try to move her head side to side or up and down. On second, thought, I’d save that little routine for the vets Tuesday.

Sorry about your boy Mitch, but just remember, “this does not equal that”. It’s one of those little simplistic things that really will get you through a lot of “worry wart moments”.

Abi really is fine e….her attitude is great….she just may need an antiflammatory as well as low energy stuff for a few more days. Sprains, pulled muscles usually come on fairly quick and abruptly, not always, but usually.

Keep us updated and always post more photos!! Your Abi is a beautiful girl……very pretty coloring.

    Keep feeling better and better!

  2. Little by little with each new day, things are getting better, I can feel it. I know it’s so hard to see it at first but you’re getting there.

Good luck this Tuesday. Tell your Momma to write down all of her questions beforehand, and of course, keep us posted. We’ll be thinking of you.

    xoxo
